The Coaches Corner
Awards2010-05-20 14:03:20
It is always with great pleasure at this time of the year that I get to point out those athletes that stood out with their play not only to me, but to all the coaches in the State.
Congratulations to:
Taylor Dean - Senior - 1st Team All State - Attack
Taylor has been a scoring machine for Curtis increasing his points per game dramatically since starting on the Varsity squad as a Freshman.
Freshman 1.0 ppg / Soph 2.45 ppg / Junior 3.75 ppg / Senior 4.69 ppg. Taylor will be attending Whittier College with a partial scholarship to play lacrosse. Coach Kelly has stated that he believes Taylor will be a significant part of their offense as a Freshman. Taylor was also chosen as one of two players to represent Washington State in the US Lacrosse Senior Showcase in Florida. This is a great honor that only 2 other Curtis High School Lacrosse Players have ever had.
Alex Anderson - Senior - 3rd Team All State - Defense
Alex has grown as a player each year he has played and is finally being noticed as a force to be reckoned with by his competitive coaches. Well done Alex. Alex will be attending TCC to study business so he can take over the family business.
Colby Carr - Junior - 3rd Team All State - Mid Field
Colby is one of the strongest defensive middies in the State, but that is not noticed in this type of balloting. He has improved his offensive game to match. He is Curtis' 2nd leading scorer this year. Colby hopes to pursue Division 1 lacrosse upon graduation. This is a great start to that goal. Next year 1st Team All State and All American
Other Curtis Players that got votes on the ballot:
Mitchell Homeyer - Junior - Goalie
Quinn Moody - Junior - Attack
Dillon Cavanagh - Junior - Attack
Cory Monaghan - Junior - Defense
